Nell

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. ~Desiderius Erasmus

This is Nell.  She came to the shelter with only one eye.  She has no idea that she has a handicap or is in some way less than any other dog at the Roanoke Valley SPCA.  She is one of the most loving and sweet natured dogs available for adoption.  I hope this sweetie pie finds her forever home very soon.  She is special dog ready for her special family.

Nell’s update:  She was adopted this past weekend.  May you thrive in your new family sweet Nell.

  1. I saw her on the Animal control web site.. I was so happy when I saw her again at the SPCA today. Thanks for saving her. She is very sweet and will make a wonderful new family member.

  2. So happy to have found your blog during the blog hop. What you’re doing for these animals is incredible, and your pictures are stunning!

By the way, we are currently holding a Comment-A-Thon in conjunction with the Back in Black adoption event, so if you happen to visit our blog, please leave a comment to be entered in our random drawing. The winner will receive a donation of up to $100 in their name to the shelter or rescue group of their choice.

  3. Beautiful picture. How funny that I should find you next on the blog hop. I was just over at My Tail Hurts From Wagging So Much and telling her how I once knew a one-eyed dog. He was a Yellow Lab and had a wonderful personality. I was so happy when he got adopted. Just because we view them as somehow “less-than” doesn’t mean they see themselves the same way. I’m tweeting this one out in hopes that Nell gets adopted. She’s a cutie patootie!
